Unlike most of our listings that offer generalized fun facts about the crystal being offered, we wanted to share with you what this crystal has taught us personally. This is a first for us and we hope no one minds! Before we do though we would like to offer a caveat of sorts. It has been our experience that the Universe meets us where we are at. As a result, our lessons may not be yours. In other words: Your mileage may vary. Please do not allow us sharing our experience with Desert Rose to influence your experience with it. And with that: Our lesson was based on three important characteristics of Desert Rose.

1. Desert Rose is more powerful in its raw form.
2. It is shaped by its exposure to the wind, sand and rain.
3. It is extraordinarily soft at 1.5-2 hardness.

We have found that the spiritual solution to any issue is often at odds with the secular world. How many of us have, at some point in our lives, focused on self-improvement or ‘growing as a human being’ to reach our full potential? We know we have. We tried to reach for our spiritual inheritance with secular tools. We were born a perfect creation; what is there for us to strive for? Growing spiritually, for us, has not been about becoming something that we are not – it has been about stripping away all the accoutrements, the add-ons, the crap that has been added to this form that carries us around. Because, like Desert Rose, we are more powerful in our raw ‘as a small child’ form. When we truly surrender to Life, our heart softens, and we allow ourselves to be shaped by our exposure to Life’s wind, sand and rain rather than trying to control our experience of it.

And now, a few things we think you may wish to know:

1. The simpler a spiritual concept is, the more profound it is. Dive deep if you wish but there is no treasure to be found that will surpass: Love your neighbor as yourself. Or, Blessed Be. Or, namaste. Or, do unto others. Or…
2. Regarding our photos: We are brand new to photography. All our photos are taken with an Android phone that has a non-working flash. We take all of our photos in a lightbox and then convert them to high definition to compensate for this. Our crystals are all photographed dry – never wet. Lastly, all our photographic efforts are to designed to represent our products as honestly as we can.
3. All sizes/weights are estimates that are made in good faith. Lengths are calculated by measuring the longest side.
4. Before an order is shipped it sits on our alter during our thirty-minute morning meditation during which we dedicate Metta to the order heading to you. If for any reason, or even no reason, you would prefer we don’t do this with your order, please let us know so we can respect your wishes.
5. In every way that matters, we are all brothers and sisters awaiting the family reunion. Until then, if no one has told you they love you today, know that we do.
